Third Company – Krefey’s Celestial Lions Project

The Third Company – commanded by Ikhanda

Ikhanda
Ikhanda is almost closer to a diplomat than a warrior in his attitudes. Surpassed only by Abongameli in his comradeship with other commanders within the Imperium, Ikhanda has been instrumental in organising joint operations and reinforcements for various engagements which have saved many Imperial worlds.

Command Pride “Sun’s Fury”
The Fury of the Sun make extensive use of plasma weaponry.   Each member being proficient with both plasma pistols and plasma guns.  The squad’s apothecary has become adept at treating plasma burns as a consequence.  Fortunately, the genetically engineered biology and the armour of the space marines helps to minimise the damage caused by the overheating weapons.

Brother Mnqobi – Dreadnought
Brother Mnqobi, formerly a commander of the third company, is a brilliant strategist. He excels at wrong footing his opponents and striking at them when and where they least suspect it. He is responsible for some innovative new tactics as well as having managed to develop different uses for weapons that had not previously been considered possible.

Brother Zithembe – Dreadnought

Tactical Pride “Lion’s Anger”
Melta gun, plasma cannon
The Lions Anger are famed for their fury on the battlefield.  They have been known to lead a reckless charge into the enemy lines.  While these actions have at times proven costly for the squad, they have rarely failed to break the enemy line and create an impetus for the forces of the Emperor to defeat their foes.

Tactical Pride “Angels Resolute”
plasma gun, multi melta
As their name implies, the squad Angels Resolute is known for standing firm in the face of overwhelming enemy forces.  Forming a keystone for the forces of the Imperium to mount a defence or a daring counter attack.

Tactical Pride “Avengers of Terra”
plasma gun, lascannon
The Avengers of Terra are so named mostly because they are normally assigned as the Chapter’s representation to assist in the defence of Terra.  They are stationed on Terra itself unless a high profile campaign requires their presence.  This pride has a high rotation of members as many in the chapter vie for a position to be stationed on Terra.

Tactical Pride “Knight Slayers”
plasma gun, missile launcher
The Knight Slayers are famed for their actions during the Olgarth campaign.  They were responsible for taking down five Slaanesh Knights.  They managed to single handedly hold the flank against one knight, protecting the Celestial Lion force as they deployed to the planet surface.  Had they not, there was a large chance that the force would have been badly damaged and may not have been able to successfully persecute their attack against the Chaos forces.

Tactical Pride “Ork Purifiers”
flamer, plasma cannon
The Ork Purifiers have specialised in dealing with the Ork menace.  Over and over they have been used for fighting the Orks on countless battlefields, lending their expertise to the Imperial forces.  Many an Ork attack has been foiled by their presence.

Tactical Pride “Shield of the Emperor”
flamer, lascannon
the squad “Shield of the Emperor” are one of the most devout squads in the chapter.  They frequent the reclusiarchy as often as their duties permit.  As a result, they frequently accompany the Pride’s chaplain into battle.

Assault Pride “Sun Strikers”
Like their commander and his command squad, units in the third pride make use of plasma weapons as often as possible.  The Sun Strikers make use of plasma pistols to help them inflict damage upon heavily armoured targets before engaging them in close combat.

Assault Pride “Blitzkrieg”
The blitzkrieg, like the Ancient Terran origin of their name, strike hard and fast.  Sowing confusion and discord amongst their enemies in a way that no other squad in the chapter has managed to copy.  They epitomise the nature of how the space marines fight.

Devastator Pride “Lion’s Hammer”
4 x missile launcher
The Lion’s Hammer squad rely exclusively on missile launchers in their support role of the third company.  Using them to bring destruction to both hordes of enemies and heavy vehicles.

Devastator Pride “Death’s Star”
4 x plasma cannon
The Death’s Star squad uses plasma cannons to predominantly take down heavy infantry. They have been known to take out large amounts of light and medium vehicles with concentrated fire, bathing them with the concentrated fury of many suns at once.  Often, after a battle, there will be many swathes of glass where the plasma has super heated the ground.
