First Company – Krefey’s Celestial Lions Project

The First Company – commanded by Phiwokwakhe

Like most chapters, the First Company of the Celestial Lions rarely gets deployed at company strength. Most often, the elite warriors that form up the First Company are deployed to bolster the strength of the other companies. The following is a list of the units that make up the first company. Woe unto the foe that faces the might of the entire First Company.

Captain Phiwokwakhe
Phiwokwakhe has survived countless battles and is close to four hundred years old. Despite his age, Phiwokwakhe is still as spry as he was when part of the scout company. Phiwokwakhe actually prefers the use of power armour and when the first company is drawn together, will lead the veterans in power armour while Leopold leads those equipped with the powerful terminator armour.

Command Pride “The Avengers”
Known within the Chapter as The Avengers, Phiwokwakhe’s command squad has played a pivotal part in the rescuing or avenging fellow battle brothers who have fallen in battle. No fewer than two hundred marines within the Chapter owe their lives to Victor and his Avengers in the 15 years leading up to the events at Armageddon        .

Brother Ngenzokwami – Venerable Dreadnought
Brother Ngenzokwami was interred in his sarcophagus shortly after the chapter was formed and is the oldest surviving Celestial Lion.  The countless battlefields he has trod upon, laying waste to all before him, has given him a wealth of experience which the chapter draws upon often in the persecution of its many campaigns.

Brother Dumisile – Venerable Dreadnought
Brother Dumisile is actually the previous chapter master of the Celestial Lions.  Leopold took command of the chapter when Dumisile succumbed to grievous wounds suffered during the persecution of the Laphidon campaign.  In this campaign against the ruthless Tyranids, Dumisile managed to defeat an entire brood of carnifexes before collapsing due to injuries he suffered during the fight.  Fortunately, the apothecaries were able to stabilise him long enough to inter him inside the protective shell of a dreadnought so he could continue to serve the chapter.

Brother Hlengiwe – Venerable Dreadnought
Brother Hilengiwe has never spoken to anyone since his entombment.  But what he lacks in verbal communication, he more than makes up for in combat.  His most impressive kill was taking down a renegade warhound titan in melee.  He managed to rip out the leg servos sending the thing crashing to the ground and then went up to its cockpit and vaporised the beast controlling it within.

Sternguard Pride “Hellfire Furies”
The Hellfire Furies have earned their name for their almost exclusive use of the specialised Hellfire rounds. Many a foe has succumbed to the sheer destructive potential of the mutagenic acid contained in these rounds.

Sternguard Pride “Lightning’s Wrath”
The squad Lightning’s Wrath favours a quick and sudden strike by drop pod over any other method of deployment. Often they will aim for the midst of the enemy where they use their special ammunition and combi weapons to unleash as much havoc as possible in order to disrupt the enemy.

Sternguard Pride “Divine Fury”
The Divine Fury bring the wrath of the Emperor upon all they engage.  Most famously, they held a single mountain pass against three entire Ork warbands during a campaign against the Warboss Skarglik.  Each of the warbands was wiped out to an Ork and the Divine Fury suffered no casualties, but none of the squad members walked away without several minor injuries.

Vanguard Pride “Emperor’s Angels”
The Emperor’s Angels descend upon wings of fire upon the enemy.  Delivery His righteous fury after coming down on the enemy, usually after being deployed by Thunderhawk, using their jump packs to accurately land close enough tot he enemy in order to assault and devastate the enemies of the Celestial Lions and the Imperium in righteous hand to hand combat.

Vanguard Pride “Lions Claws”
The Lions Claws are famed for their use of lightning claws over most other weapons.  Despite this, every member is highly proficient with every close combat weapon found in the Space Marine arsenal.

Terminator Pride “Pride Killers”
(Terminator squad with two cyclone missile launcher and two chainfists)
The Pride Killers rely on a withering hail of fire from their storm bolters and cyclones missile launchers.  Wherever these elite marines tread, only death is left in their wake as they unleash untold destruction upon their foes with their devastating weaponry.

Terminator Pride “Cleansing Flames”
(Terminator squad armed with two heavy flamers and two chainfists)
The Cleansing Flames squad specialises in clearing out space hulks.  As a result, they prefer the use of the close range, but devastating heavy flamers and chainfists for cleaving through bulkheads.

Terminator Pride “Hail of Fury”
(Terminator squad armed with two assault cannons and two chainfists)
Rounding off the weapon complement of the various terminator units, the Hail of Fury squad excels at the use of the assault cannon.  Along with their storm bolters, they lay down a withering barrage of fire which cuts down their foes like a scythe cutting crops.

Terminator Assault Pride “Hammers of Righteousness”
(Terminator assault squad armed with thunder hammers and storm shields)
As the squad name implies, these elite of the first company go into battle wielding the deadly thunder hammer.  They also have the awesome protection of their storm shields, allowing them to withstand vast quantities of firepower as they advance upon the enemy to unleash their righteous fury.

Terminator Assault Pride “Claws of Fury”
(Terminator assault squad armed with lightning claws)
These elite of the Emperor’s finest choose to use the lightning claw as their weapon of choice.  They excel at fighting the hordes as they sweep them aside with each stroke of their claws.  Many a foe has been on the receiving end of the Claws of Fury as they rush their enemy from within the confines of their land raider transports.
